Ford has opened a new parts distribution center in Dubai South to strengthen its supply chain operations across the Middle East and Africa. This new facility is designed to enhance the efficiency of the region's parts distribution network, particularly serving key markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Angola, and Ghana.
Spanning 41,792 square meters, the state-of-the-art facility is equipped with advanced technologies. Drones are utilized for inventory management and safety monitoring, while the SAP S/4HANA warehouse management system enables paperless operations, barcode scanning, and high-accuracy inventory control. This results in improved operational efficiency and reduced error rates. The center also features 20 container docks, offering an ideal infrastructure for efficient inbound and outbound operations.
Sustainability is a key focus at the new center. A 400 kW solar panel system, planned for installation in 2025, is expected to reduce energy costs by 35% and cut carbon emissions by 290 tons annually. Additionally, the facility partners with eco-friendly suppliers and incorporates recycling processes to meet environmental responsibilities.
Ford's investment in Dubai highlights the company's strategy to expand its operations in the Middle East while improving supply chain efficiency.
