Kodiak AI and Bosch Partner to Scale Hardware for Autonomous Trucking

Autonomous trucking company Kodiak AI has partnered with Bosch to accelerate the production of self-driving truck hardware and sensors. The collaboration aims to support the transition from pilot programs to large-scale commercial deployment in freight transportation.

Kodiak AI, a developer of autonomous trucking technology, has announced a strategic partnership with Bosch to scale the manufacturing of hardware systems used in self-driving trucks. The collaboration is designed to support Kodiak’s shift from pilot deployments to large-scale commercial operations in the freight transportation sector.

As part of the agreement, Bosch will supply Kodiak AI with a range of automotive-grade components, including advanced sensors and vehicle actuation systems such as steering technologies. The partnership was unveiled at the CES 2026 trade show in Las Vegas, highlighting the growing momentum behind autonomous freight solutions.

Beyond component supply, Bosch and Kodiak AI will work jointly to develop a production-ready, redundant autonomous platform that integrates hardware, firmware, and software interfaces. This platform is intended to enable the deployment of Kodiak’s AI-powered driving system either directly on factory production lines or through retrofitting existing trucks.

The autonomous vehicle industry has come under increasing pressure from investors to demonstrate sustainable business models after years of significant investment and limited revenue generation. In this context, freight transportation has emerged as a promising application area due to its predictable routes and clearer pathways to profitability.

Kodiak AI, which went public approximately three months ago, positions itself among the few autonomous trucking companies currently operating driverless trucks without a human safety driver in commercial service. The company reports that customer-owned autonomous trucks are already active in real-world operations.

Bosch, the world’s largest automotive supplier by revenue, continues to expand its presence in autonomous mobility by providing sensors, computing solutions, and vehicle control systems to both automakers and technology firms. This partnership further strengthens Bosch’s role in shaping the future of autonomous transportation.
