Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the new Transportation Investment Program outlining Turkey’s strategic priorities for the next three years. The plan places a strong emphasis on railway development, with projects in signaling, electrification, and line renewal set to accelerate. In addition, the number of logistics centers dedicated to freight transport will be expanded, and existing centers will undergo modernization.
The program also highlights the development of maritime and port infrastructure, focusing on major ports such as Mersin, İzmir, Filyos, and İskenderun. These projects aim to boost Turkey’s competitiveness in global trade logistics and improve its ranking in the Global Logistics Performance Index.
In the road transport sector, new connection routes supporting regional growth and intelligent transportation systems will play a key role. Integration with international routes like the Middle Corridor and the Development Road Project will strengthen Turkey’s multimodal transportation network.
Minister Uraloğlu underlined that the program focuses not only on physical infrastructure but also on green and digital transformation. Reducing carbon emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, and expanding digital solutions in transport are among the government’s top priorities.
This comprehensive plan is expected to enhance Turkey’s logistics capacity and global competitiveness in the years ahead.
