Midlands Region Industry and Technology Cluster and Ministry of International Trade Turkey Office organized a railway sector network event in Ankara. It is planned to increase the cooperation between the United Kingdom and Turkey in the railway sector with the bilateral meetings to be held within the scope of this event.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, TCDD, Metropolitan Municipalities, international development banks, Turkish contractors and the UK's leading railway companies participated in the event.
British Consul General and Eastern Europe and Central Asia Trade Commissioner Kenan Poleo stated in his speech that it is important to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.
Poleo emphasized Turkey's willingness to invest in the construction of electric high-speed train lines between Mersin-Gaziantep, Karaman-Mersin and Kayseri-Ankara.
In addition, it was reported that a clean transport agreement worth 2.1 billion euros was agreed between the United Kingdom and Turkey.
