Türkiye’s Role in International Logistics Corridors to Be Strengthened

Türkiye is preparing to take new steps to strengthen its position as a logistics hub connecting Asia and Europe. Under the Medium-Term Program covering the 2027–2029 period, Türkiye aims to make more effective use of its strategic geographical position and transportation infrastructure.

 

The new plan focuses on improving connections among ports, railways, highways, airports, logistics centers, and border crossings while enhancing the efficiency of transportation, storage, and distribution processes. In this context, the Middle Corridor and the Development Road stand out as important components of Türkiye’s international logistics strategy.

 

Strategic connections such as the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars Railway, the Zangezur Corridor, and the Istanbul Northern Railway Crossing are planned to be further developed to increase transit transportation capacity through Türkiye. The Development Road project also aims to strengthen the integration of ports, railways, and road transportation.

 

These developments highlight the strategic importance of logistics infrastructure, intermodal transportation, corridor management, and supply chain planning in strengthening Türkiye’s role in global trade and supply chains. The development of international transportation corridors may also create new opportunities for investment and cooperation within the logistics sector.
