Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport experienced a significant passenger increase in the first 2 months of this year. 10.8 million passengers traveled at Istanbul Airport, 2.4 million of them on domestic routes and 8.4 million on international routes. Compared to the same period last year, the number of passengers increased by 3.7 million. At Sabiha Gökçen Airport, 5.2 million passengers traveled, representing an increase of 18 percent on domestic routes and 36 percent on international routes compared to the same period last year.
The total number of passengers at Istanbul airports increased by 43 percent in 2 months, reaching 16 million. In parallel with this increase, 18,602 domestic flights and 55,847 international flights were organized at Istanbul Airport. Compared to the same period last year, the total number of flights also increased.
