Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the domestic and national Electronic Flight Stripe and Digital Air Traffic Controller Departure Clearance (EFS/DCL) System, which digitalizes air traffic control, is actively used at 29 airports. Since 2022, the system has saved 2.5 million Euros.
This technology, which uses a digital system instead of paper, lightens the workload of air traffic controllers, reduces the margin of error and increases flight safety. It also reduces radio traffic and enables pilots to receive take-off clearance digitally, thus preventing communication errors.
The system, which provides great convenience especially at Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Esenboğa and Adnan Menderes airports, accelerates air traffic management and increases operational efficiency. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the system has reached a level that can compete in the international aviation sector and will be exported abroad to provide economic gain.
