 Istanbul Airports Welcomed More Than 104 Million Passengers in 11 Months


Istanbul's airports experienced a significant increase, welcoming more than 104 million passengers between January and November this year. Air travel, which declined during the COVID-19 pandemic, continued its upward trend since 2022. Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport experienced significant increases in passenger traffic, with more than 70 million passengers traveling to Istanbul and 33 million to Sabiha Gökçen. The number of flights also increased significantly, reflecting the resurgence of air travel in the region.


 
In total, Istanbul's airports handled more than 104 million passengers between January and November this year. Istanbul Airport welcomed more than 70 million passengers, while Sabiha Gökçen Airport served more than 33 million passengers. These figures show a significant increase in air traffic, supported by the number of flights compared to the previous year. The remarkable increase in the number of passengers and the rise in the frequency of flights can be considered as an indicator of the renewed interest and confidence in air travel in the region.
