Babadağ in the Fethiye district of Muğla continues to become a favorite of paragliding enthusiasts. The year 2023 witnessed a new record for this magnificent natural wonder and flight area. Paragliding flights from Babadağ reached their peak with a total of 233 thousand 314 flights in 2023, especially with the unique Ölüdeniz view.
Babadağ, which had a target of 200 thousand flights last year, exceeded this figure and provided unforgettable moments for adrenaline enthusiasts. Osman Çıralı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fethiye Power Union Company, announced that the flights performed in 2023 totaled 233 thousand 314, of which 151 thousand 309 were tandem flights and 82 thousand 5 were single flights.
Çıralı also stated that Babadağ's worldwide recognition has increased and has become the center of paragliding. Drawing attention to the international sports organizations hosted by Babadağ, Çıralı emphasized that the interest in paragliding is constantly increasing as local and foreign tourists coming to the region prefer Babadağ.
It is observed that Babadağ has become the shining star of Fethiye with the increase in the brand value of Babadağ day by day and the ease of transportation. The fact that the International Oludeniz Air Games have been taking place in Babadağ for many years contributes to the region becoming a meeting point for paragliding athletes. This situation reveals that Babadağ is an important center that constantly increases interest in paragliding sports.
