Within the framework of the 40th Ministerial Meeting of the COMCEC, a high-level special event titled “Women's Leading Role in the Green Economy: Zero Waste Initiative” was organized. Mahinur ÖZDEMİR GÖKTAŞ, Minister of Family and Social Services, delivered the opening speech at the panel, and among the lecturers representing our university, our Vice Dean of Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Assist. Prof. Özlem Tuğçe KELEŞ and our faculty member of the Department of International Trade and Business, Assist. Prof. Başak ÖZARSLAN DOĞAN also attended.
The panel was moderated by Ndeye Marie Aida NDIEGUENE, who previously served as the Minister of Environment of Morocco, Zero Waste Advisor to the Former President of Senegal and is currently a member of the UN Zero Waste Advisory Board. NDIEGUENE also participated as a panelist. The second panelist was H.E. Hakima EL HAITÉ, founder and CEO of EcoBuilders, an organization established in Senegal to support farmers to prevent crop loss and maximize food security. Sarah AL-DORANI, founder and CEO of Beehive Recyling, a smart recycling and waste collection service provider, and Salma BOUGARRANI, CEO of Green WATECH, a company specializing in using energy-efficient methods to treat wastewater, also contributed as panelists.
