 Foreign Trade Expectations for the Second Quarter of 2024


According to the data announced by the Ministry of Commerce, the Export Expectation Index for the second quarter of 2024 was 123.3. According to the results obtained from the foreign trade expectation survey conducted between 01-19 March 2024, the Export Expectation Index for the second quarter of 2024 increased by 18.4 points compared to the first quarter and became 123.3.


According to the spread indices of the questions included in the Export Expectation Index; It was determined that the evaluations regarding the export expectation for the next 3 months, the currently registered export order level, the export order expectation and the export order level for the last 3 months affected the index in an upward direction compared to the previous quarter.
 
Import Expectation Index for the 2nd Quarter of 2024 was 104.5. The index decreased by 10.1 points compared to the previous quarter and reached 104.5.
 
According to the diffusion indices of the questions included in the Import Expectation Index; It was determined that evaluations regarding import expectations for the next 3 months, currently registered import order level, import unit price expectation and import order level in the last 3 months affected the index in a decreasing way compared to the previous quarter.
 
Foreign Trade Expectations Survey (DTBA) published within the scope of the Official Statistics Program (RIP); It is implemented quarterly by the Ministry of Commerce and reflects the evaluations of the companies that direct our foreign trade regarding the recent past and the current situation and their expectations for the future period, but does not reflect the views and forecasts of the ministry.
