Dear Students,
Istanbul Gelisim University, in collaboration with the University of Greenwich, Mzumbe University, and Atlas University, is organizing the 8th International Economics and Finance Conference, which will take place both online and in person on 6-7 December 2024. This year's main theme is "Perspectives from Africa."
The goal of the conference is to provide a platform for discussing the challenges faced by the African continent during its development process, from the perspective of African academics. So far, Turkey's view of Africa has been mainly focused on how it can achieve its own economic and political goals in the region. However, this conference will give African participants the opportunity to voice their ideas about the future of Africa and assess how aligned other countries' actions, like Turkey's, are with the development paths African nations wish to pursue. Moreover, the conference will explore how the integration efforts of the African Union could create investment and trade opportunities for countries like Turkey in the future.
All papers presented on topics related to economics and finance will be evaluated by expert reviewers, and sessions will be organized by discipline and topic.
The official languages of the conference will be Turkish and English. This language flexibility will allow us to overcome communication barriers with international participants, fostering a more inclusive exchange of ideas.
