According to the evaluations conducted within the framework of the Istanbul Gelisim University Academic Performance Evaluation Process Management System, Prof. Bahri Şahin, the Rector of Istanbul Gelisim University and an academician at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, is among the top 5 in the General Ranking. In the ranking, where Assoc. Prof. Festus Victor Bekun from the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences secured the 1st place, other top 5 achievers from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, including Prof. Nuri Kuruoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Anıl Niş, and Asst. Prof. Metin Mehmetoğlu, also received General Ranking awards for their accomplishments.
Awards and certificates of achievement were presented to the academic staff who ranked in the General Ranking and Unit-Based Rankings of the 2023 Academic Performance Evaluation System (APSİS) of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) during a ceremony attended by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdulkadir Gayretli and Rector Prof. Bahri Şahin.
The ceremony began with an opening speech by the Rector of Istanbul Gelisim University, Prof. Bahri Şahin. In his speech, Prof. Bahri Şahin talked about the Academic Performance Evaluation System, used for the first time this year, explaining that faculty members were evaluated in three different categories: 'Education-Teaching,' 'Research-Development,' and 'Management.' Rector Prof. Bahri Şahin stated, "Each of you, with your outstanding performance and dedication in your respective fields, makes our university proud. Your academic achievements offer hope not only for yourselves but also for the valuable students you are educating for the future."
Following the speech by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdulkadir Gayretli, who emphasized the importance of science and research under the 'Research University' vision of Istanbul Gelisim University, the award-winning academics were invited to the stage one by one to receive their awards.
