Message From Head of Department
The Department of Political Science and International Relations in İstanbul Gelisim University, as a young department in a young university of Turkey, has been continuing its academic activities since 2011. Our department aims to raise responsible and competent individuals equipped with ethical values and knowledge of political and social issues regarding Turkey and the World, international relations, political events, conflicts and problems.
Our students are able to obtain theoretical and practical information regarding both political science and international relations thanks to comprehensive courses that they take in their four-year program. Also they have opportunity to get familiarize with different disciplines and take their first steps to specialize in the sub-discipline they would choose due to various courses they could get. Our department particularly focuses on Eurasia studies and aims to provide an intellectual and academic perspective regarding political, social, historical and international issues in this region.
Each semester, our department organizes conferences, workshops and seminars with the support and participation of leading political figures or eminent scholars in this field. Our department has a strong visibility thanks to their academic activities particularly its traditional Middle East Symposiums. Thanks to international mobility agreements, both Turkish and foreign scholars could have chance to share their knowledge to our students. Also our students have opportunity to get education in various European universities within the context of our bilateral agreements.
The language of the department of Political Science and International Relations (English) is English. English Preparatory Courses are mandatory for students.
