Psychology (English) Department Student Halime Özgür Presents Research at the 30th National Psychology Students Congress

Psychology (English) Department student Halime Özgür presented a study conducted in collaboration with Assist. Prof. Berk Efe Altınal at the 30th National Psychology Students Congress, held from August 11 to 13, 2026.

The 30th National Psychology Students Congress, organized in collaboration with Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and the Turkish Psychology Students Working Group, was held from August 11 to 13, 2026, under the theme “Mental Health in the Age of Uncertainty.”

Psychology (English) Department student Halime Özgür presented her study, conducted in collaboration with Assist. Prof. Berk Efe Altınal, titled “Clinical Uncertainties in Inclusive Mental Health Services: A Literature Review of Psychotherapy Processes with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Clients.”

The study examined psychotherapy processes involving Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients, with a particular focus on communication, cultural competence, and the use of sign language. It also addressed the clinical and ethical uncertainties that may arise from the “Care Triangle” formed by the client, therapist, and sign language interpreter when an interpreter participates in the psychotherapy process, based on the relevant literature.

We congratulate our student Halime Özgür on her valuable academic work and successful presentation at the congress, and wish her continued success in her academic endeavors.
