2026-2027 Academic Year Student Orientation Program Conducted


On September 24, 2026, the 2026–2027 Academic Year Orientation Meeting was held with the participation of faculty members and students newly joining the Department of Public Relations and Publicity. In the program, which aimed to ensure students quickly and efficiently adapt to university life, academic culture, and the department, detailed information was provided regarding both educational processes and campus life.


In the first part of the program, the curriculum content and course plan of the department were shared with the students. Core topics to be covered during the educational process and areas offering specialization were elaborated on, emphasizing the importance of establishing professional development on solid foundations. Additionally, preliminary information was provided to students about the academic and social events planned for the year.

Micro-Credential Framework, Double Major, Minor, and Erasmus+ Opportunities Presented
General information about the micro-credential framework was provided, and the department's Micro-Credential Model was introduced. Within the scope of opportunities aimed at expanding students' academic vision, the scope, application requirements, and second diploma/certificate opportunities provided by Double Major and Minor programs were conveyed. Furthermore, details of the Erasmus+ exchange program, which offers an international educational experience, language proficiency requirements, and application criteria were shared.



Digital Systems and Administrative Support Units Introduced
To ensure the smooth execution of educational processes, the use of the Student Information System (OBİS) and the procedures to be carried out through the system were explained step by step. While emphasizing the importance of active use of corporate student emails for official correspondence, the necessity of regularly following the official web pages and social media accounts of the university, faculty, and department for current announcements was stated.
In the remainder of the program, support units that students can benefit from throughout their education were introduced. In addition to the opportunities offered by the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, the Career Center, and the Dean of Students, detailed information was provided regarding the IGUMER Stakeholder Opinion and Suggestion System, through which students can submit requests, feedback, and recommendations.



Marka Aktif Club and Career Opportunities Evaluated
The structure, ongoing activities, and membership processes of Marka Aktif—the departmental student club contributing to students' social and professional development—were shared, drawing attention to the importance of participating in club activities. The meeting was concluded with an evaluation of post-graduation career opportunities and employment prospects in the sector.
