Guide and writer Şerif Yenen announced the new tourism trends for 2021. It is predicted that the popularity of online trips and special interest tours, which became popular in 2020, will increase in 2021.
Stating that both the number of tourists decreased and the behavior of tourists changed with the Covid-19 epidemic, Yenen stated that the way guides work has also changed. Virtual tours, online training and seminars gave birth to a new concept: E-tour. In this concept, attractions, ruins and museums are visited by the guides, but only by providing narration through online interviews.
Tourists, who did not want to go on tour with large groups and organizations due to the epidemic, found it attractive to plan tours with smaller groups according to their wishes. It is possible to state that this situation will continue to increase in 2021 as well. Yenen stated that there has been an increased interest in Göbekli Tepe and that he expects the number of virtual and real tours to be held in this region will increase.
