Gelisim Education, Culture, Health and Social Work Foundation, establishing Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School started education and training in 2008. Istanbul Gelisim University was established with the Law No. 6114 dated 17/02/2011.
 
The Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences became part of the Gelisim family with 5 undergraduate programs in the 2011-2012 Academic Year, has developed rapidly over time and has reached 25 undergraduate programs today. Our faculty departments, has successfully passed the audit process of AQAS, the agency certifying the education standards of European Union countries, and blazed a trail across Turkey There are double major, minor and lateral transfer opportunities in each department. In addition, more than 100 Erasmus + and other bilateral agreements have been offered to our students together with the advanced social facilities provided by 17 student clubs.
 
As of 2019-2020 Spring Semester, 4,128 local and 569 international students, a total of 4,697, receive education in our faculty programs. Some of our 1,658 students who graduated from our faculty started their own business with the support of our external stakeholders, while others were employed in the private and public sectors. Our faculty undertakes an important role in meeting the need for qualified personnel in Turkey.
 
Education in our faculty is carried out by 155 academicians. 40 research assistants also support education. Special emphasis is placed on the education staff, and the academic work is rewarded with the incentive system. In addition, important incentives are provided to our faculty members, who present their papers to national and international conferences, symposiums and panels, or attend as listeners. In 2019 alone, our faculty made 94 publication incentive applications by its academic staff.
 
Our faculty organizes national and international scientific events every year or hosts those organized. International Middle East Symposium, New Media Conference and International Economy and Finance Conference are among the traditional international scientific events.
