Asst. Prof. Olcay Ölçen Participated in AIRS 2026 Symposium with Two Research Papers

Asst. Prof. Olcay Ölçen Presented His Research at the AIRS 2026 Symposium

The Aviation Innovation and Research Symposium (AIRS 2026), where innovations and current research in the field of aviation are discussed, was held in Nevşehir on April 24-25, 2026. During the symposium, which brought together industry stakeholders and academics, Asst. Prof. Olcay Ölçen from our Department of Aviation Management presented two distinct research papers.

As part of the symposium, Olcay Ölçen shared the following studies focusing on different disciplines of aviation:

• Analysis on Hot Air Ballooning: The study titled "Development of Hot Air Ballooning Activities in Civil Aviation: A Descriptive Analysis Evaluation," co-authored with S. Gün, evaluated the development process of ballooning activities in civil aviation.

• Sectoral Restructuring and Crisis Management: The study titled "Bankruptcy and Restructuring in the Turkish Aviation Sector: Rescue or Starting from Scratch? A Comparative Analysis of Onur Air and AtlasGlobal," conducted jointly with D. Can and Ü. Kanmaz, analyzed business strategies in the Turkish aviation industry.

These presentations, evaluating sectoral dynamics from an academic perspective, were followed with great interest by the participants.
