 Babadağ Sets New Record with 233,000 Flights in 2023 for Paragliding


Babadağ in Fethiye, Muğla, soared to a new paragliding flight record in 2023 with a remarkable increase. A total of 233,314 flights were recorded, marking the highest flight count ever. This surge further solidifies Babadağ as a globally recognized hub for paragliding enthusiasts.


Babadağ in Fethiye, Muğla continues to be a favorite among paragliding enthusiasts. The year 2023 witnessed a new milestone for this magnificent natural wonder and flight zone. Paragliding flights from Babadağ soared to a total of 233,314, especially amidst the breathtaking scenery of Ölüdeniz.

Exceeding the target of 200,000 flights set the previous year, Babadağ provided unforgettable experiences for adrenaline enthusiasts. Osman Çıralı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fethiye Power Union Company, announced that in 2023, there were a total of 233,314 flights, comprising 151,309 tandem flights and 82,005 single flights.

Çıralı also emphasized the increased global recognition of Babadağ and its status as a hub for paragliding. Highlighting the international sports events hosted by Babadağ, Çıralı emphasized the continuous rise in interest in paragliding among both local and foreign tourists choosing Babadağ.

With Babadağ's increasing brand value and improved accessibility, it has become the shining star of Fethiye. The longstanding hosting of the International Ölüdeniz Air Games in Babadağ contributes to making the region a meeting point for paragliding enthusiasts. This underscores Babadağ's significant role as a focal point continually boosting interest in aerial sports.
