In November, 4.5 million Americans quit their jobs.

In November, a record 4.5 million workers in the United States quit their jobs, indicating that the U.S. job market is rapidly recovering from last year's COVID-19 recession.

The US Labor Department also reported on Tuesday that employers posted 10.6 million job openings in November, a decrease from 11.1 million in October but still a high number by historical standards.

Employers hired 6.7 million people in November, up from 6.5 million in October, according to the Labor Department's monthly Jobs Openings and Labor Turnover Survey released Tuesday.

The unemployment rate has dropped to 4.2 percent, which economists consider to be close to full employment.
