Turkey in the top 10 in international education

The "9th International Student Symposium", organized to bring together international students from countries around the world who prefer Turkey for university education, was hosted by Istanbul Gelisim University. At the symposium, it was stated that Turkey is in the top 10 among the most preferred countries in international education.

Turkey is in the top 10 preferred countries

Stating that Turkey has become an important preference center for international students with the increase in the standard of education especially in the last two decades, Istanbul Gelisim University Department of Political Science and International Relations Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Fuat Tuncer said, "Turkey has entered the top 10 among the countries preferred in international education.  It has made a serious breakthrough in recent years. According to 2023 figures, there are more than 300 thousand foreign students. This is a very important figure for Turkey's public diplomacy power. Students who come to our country graduate as volunteer ambassadors and represent Turkey in their home countries. As a university, we are one of the universities hosting the highest number of international students in Turkey. We attach great importance to international education and studentship."

Stating that international students are also an important resource for the Turkish economy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Fuat Tuncer said, "According to a recent study, an international student contributes an average of 700 dollars a month to the Turkish economy. When this is multiplied by the number of students, it reaches a very serious figure annually."
