Recruiters Are Laid Off By Apple As Part of Its Slowdown

According to persons with knowledge of the situation, Apple Inc. fired a large number of its contract-based recruiters during the past week as part of an effort to cut back on the tech giant's recruiting and spending. According to the people, who requested anonymity because the matter is confidential, the world's most valuable corporation let go of about 100 contract workers in an unusual action. The layoffs indicate that Apple's business is slowing down because the recruiters were in charge of acquiring new personnel.

For the Cupertino, California-based technology company, which employs Apple than 150,000 people, the decision to lay off staff is exceptional. But it's not the only one who has taken this action. In response to a slowdown in tech expenditure, Meta Platforms Inc., Tesla Inc., Microsoft Corp., Amazon.com Inc., and Oracle Corp. have all recently cut staff.

Apple, like many other businesses, hires contract personnel for jobs like customer care and technical support. Additionally, it employs contractors to localize items and enhance its Maps service. Contract employees often have less perks and protections than full-time employees.
