Our department faculty members, Dr. Burçin Çakır Gündoğdu, and Res. Asst. Eslem Büyükarslan, contributed to the international congress titled "IX. TESAM International Congress of Social Sciences – The Beginning of the Age of Crises: Economic, Political, and Social Dimensions," organized jointly by Marmara University and the Afro-Eurasian Research Institute on November 5–7, 2025, by participating together and contributing their academic work.
This ninth congress series, organized by TESAM since 2015, stands out as an important scientific platform that brings together social science scholars, researchers, and policymakers for in-depth discussions on global economic, political, and social crises. Held in a hybrid format, the event draws attention with its diverse international participants and extensive publication opportunities.
The faculty members representing our department presented a timely and analytical paper at the congress titled "The Relationship between Economic Freedom, the Rule of Law, and Healthcare Expenditures: The Case of G20 Countries," assessing the impact of institutional indicators such as economic freedom and the rule of law on healthcare spending based on data from G20 countries for the period 2000–2022. The paper attracted the attention of participants due to the perspective it provides on the institutional structure-market relationship.
The paper was included in the congress proceedings book and opened to international academic sharing. With these contributions, our faculty members have added value to the scientific productivity and visibility of our department.
