Career Journey and the Right Profession Choice V Successfully Held

Organized in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Finance and the IGU Economics and Finance Club, the event titled “Career Journey and the Right Profession Choice V: Career, Leadership and Field Experience in the Banking Sector” was successfully held with strong interest and productive participation.

Held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at K Block Firnas Auditorium, the program provided our students with the opportunity to evaluate the dynamics of the banking sector through the lenses of field experience, leadership, and career development. Throughout the event, participants gained an insider’s perspective on the sector, while the realities of professional life, key considerations in career advancement, and the core competencies required in banking were discussed in detail.

The speaker of the event, Mr. Ersin Uzun, Garanti BBVA Branch Manager and Mentor, shared his sectoral experience with our students and offered valuable insights into the banking industry. With his sincere, inspiring, and thought-provoking presentation, Mr. Uzun created a strong sense of awareness and motivation among our students and provided a remarkable perspective on the career planning process.

While the event was moderated by Assoc. Prof. İsmail Cem Ay, who is also the advisor of the club, bringing together the academic and sectoral dimensions of the program within a strong framework, we would also like to express our gratitude to Dr. Mehmet Bentürk, Vice Chair of our Department, for his support at every stage of the event, and to our valuable research assistants Eslem Büyükarslan and M. Ali Kayacık, who meticulously carried out the organizational process and internal correspondence.
