The study is based on field research conducted at businesses that are members of the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Association (İTKİB). In this new study, conducted specifically on exporting companies, the researchers examined the relationship between organizational learning, organizational resilience, and product innovation. The findings indicate that increasing organizational learning capacities during periods of crisis strengthens product innovation through organizational resilience. According to the research results, organizational learning directly and significantly impacts product innovation; moreover, organizational resilience fully mediates this relationship. This demonstrates firms' ability not only to preserve knowledge during crises but also to transform it into innovative product development processes.
The authors' study sheds light on strategies for businesses to survive and maintain their competitiveness during crises. The research makes an original contribution to the literature by explaining the impact of learning and resilience on innovation within the framework of Dynamic Capabilities Theory.
Key Findings
• Organizational learning has a positive and strong impact on product innovation.
• Organizational resilience fully mediates this relationship.
