The conference was originally scheduled for February 26-29. However, the negotiations were extended by one day to facilitate the achievement of results on the key issues addresses, calling for further efforts to reach consensus.
The conference concluded with the adoption of the Abu Dhabi Ministerial Declaration. A commitment was made to maintain and strengthen the ability of the WTO-centered multilateral trading system to respond to trade challenges.
The WTO Director-General noted the confirmation of the role of trade and the WTO in strengthen of women, extending opportunities for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and accomplishing sustainable development in economic, environmental and social dimensions.
