An Efficient Time Management Method Proposal: The Eisenhower Matrix

Today, the biggest factor that determines what we will do is time. This factor, which we can define as time or timelessness, hinders many of our works that we need to do. While we can't spare time for what we need to do, we spend too much time on unimportant tasks. This situation creates a big problem for school and business life. Finding the right time management technique to set our priorities can come in handy throughout the day.

The Eisenhower Matrix is one of the simplest models that will be useful for us on how to manage time efficiently. This matrix, developed by former US President Dwight D. Eisenhower, is based on categorizing and prioritizing the work that needs to be done in this way, by dividing a coordinate system into 4 quadrants as "urgent - not urgent" and important - "not important". It can be summarized as follows:

1. Urgent and important (Crises) – If a job is in this category, it should be done immediately
2. Not urgent and important – If a job is in this category, it should be decided when it will be done
3. Urgent but unimportant – If a job is in this category, it should be delegated to someone else who can do it
4. Not urgent and unimportant – If a job is in this category, it should be done later

In summary, for those who do not manage their time well, it can be useful to use this matrix when ranking and prioritizing tasks.
