Compared to the same month of the previous year, exports decreased by 4.1%, imports by 5.7% and foreign trade volume by 5.1%. In the January-March 2024 period, compared to the same period last year, exports decreased by 3.6%, foreign trade volume decreased by 6.3%, while imports increased by 12.6%.
The Ministry stated that the year-on-year decline was largely due to calendar effects. On the other hand, the fact that the value of exports in March ranked 3rd historically and that the downward trend in imports continued since August were considered as positive developments.
