 TURKIYE FOREIGN TRADE STATISTICS


2023 foreign trade data for April has been announced!


According to the foreign trade data announced by TURKSTAT in April 2023; compared to April 2022, exports decreased by 17.2%. In this case, our exports were recorded as 19 billion 315 million. Our imports decreased by 4.5% and became 28 billion 162 million. Our total foreign trade volume decreased by 10.1% and reached 47 billion 477 million. In April 2023, compared to April 2022 (excluding energy and gold data), the gold coverage ratio of exports decreased by 20.2% and was recorded as 82.5%.

The countries to which Turkey exported the most in April were Germany (1 billion 585 million dollars), the USA (1 billion 163 million dollars), and Iraq (970 million dollars). The country groups to which the most exports are made are the European Union (EU-27) (8 billion 131 million dollars), Near and Middle Eastern Countries (3 billion 207 million dollars), and Other European Countries (3 billion 135 million dollars).

The countries with the highest imports were Russia (4 billion 178 million dollars), China (3 billion 688 million dollars), and Germany (2 billion 176 million dollars). The country groups with the highest imports are respectively; European Union (EU-27) (8 billion 388 million dollars), Asian Countries (7 billion 437 million dollars), and Other European Countries (5 billion 624 million dollars).

If we look at the import and export figures based on sectors, the highest share of imports was the Manufacturing Industry with a rate of 80.0%. Following this sector, Mining and Quarrying sector was 11.1%, Agriculture, Forestry, and the Fishing sector was 5.6%. The highest share in exports is met by the Manufacturing Industry with a rate of 94.8%. Following this, the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector was 3.1% and the Mining and Quarrying sector was 1.6%.
