Sustainable Development and Zero Emissions Approach

Sustainable development is an understanding that has 17 different goals, from increasing the accessibility of clean energy to protecting aquatic life. This understanding aims to meet the needs of today's generations without compromising the welfare of future generations. With the increase in environmental problems in our world, the concept of sustainable development and the discussions around it are gaining more and more importance in the 21st century.

The discussions in question include the reduction of emission volumes experienced in the axis of energy conversion. The concept of "Green Energy", which has emerged in recent years, is evaluated within this scope. This concept, which qualifies the produced energy to have zero emissions, was introduced by physicist scientist Prof. Dr. It is criticized by Jacques Treiner. Stating that there is no energy type with zero emissions, Treiner states that even the turbines used in producing the solar panels are produced using fossil fuels. In this sense, instead of the concept of zero emissions, the understanding of reducing the total emissions to the minimum limit that can be reduced provides a more realistic basis.
