The seminar on "Pandemic, Income Distribution and Unemployment" was held.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Onur Özdemir, who gave the presentation at the event attended by the head of department Asst. Prof. Dr. Yahya Can Dura and our department faculty members, made a comparative evaluation of the national and international income distribution and unemployment data in the pandemic.
He commented on the impacts of the pandemic through the macroeconomic indicators as well as income distribution and unemployment.
Income distribution and unemployment issues in Orthodox and Heterodox economics were presented. The role of nations, globalization and institutions were discussed.
Referring to the economic effects of the global and regional crises experienced before the pandemic, Asst. Prof. Dr. Onur Özdemir emphasized that the economic deterioration encountered during the pandemic has reached a more serious dimension than the previous crises and that the recovery process could take longer.
The event ended with answering questions from the participants.
