World Trade Organization Panel Will be Done on April 29

An online seminar on the Trade Related Intellectual Property Agreement (TRIPS) will be held by the World Trade Organization (WTO) on April 29, 2021. The interaction of competition policy and intellectual property issues will be discussed in the seminar.

TRIPS (Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rigths), which was included in the international trade system by the WTO in 1995, is referred to as an international agreement that deals with trade-related intellectual property rights. Since the date of the agreement, efforts have been made to develop relations between intellectual property rights and competitiveness policies. TRIPS is an agreement that emerged within the scope of the Uruguay Round of the Switzerland-centered World Trade Organization. TRIPS, the largest-scale agreement on intellectual property in international trade, served as a protective agreement that the World Trade Organization eliminated the missing points with the Bern Agreement and the Paris Agreement, and that the member countries of the organization had to sign of it.

At the seminar on April 29, 2021, TRIPS will be explained in detail and the topic of "Competition Policy and Intellectual Property in Today's Global Economy" will be discussed by Giovanni Napolitano from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) , Professor Eleanor Fox and Professor William Kovacic.
