The United States of America's central banking system which named with The Federal Reserve System (Fed) has announced its interest rate decision.
According to the statement made by the FED, there was no change in the policy rate. In the new decision, the policy rate was kept constant in the 0-0.25 interval. But inflation expectations have been increased. It was emphasized that this increase expectation and the pressure on inflation were temporary. While the unemployment rate stated for 2020 was 4.5%, the expectation for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rate from 6.5% was increased to 7%.
It was also emphasized in the statement that positive expectations for employment developed with the recent increase in vaccination rates and the decrease in the number of cases worldwide. In addition, it was stated that the sectors started to recover thanks to vaccination and the indicators for economic activities tended to strengthen.
