At the beginning of the visit, the Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onur Özdemir, provided a comprehensive presentation on the activities carried out during the Spring Semester. Following this, the views and suggestions of all academic staff members in the department were heard. The faculty members shared the outcomes of their academic work during the semester, as well as the results of departmental events and various projects, and presented their plans and suggestions for future activities.
The contributions of collaboration protocols signed with experienced institutions and representatives from the industry to the educational processes were discussed. It was emphasized that such partnerships help track sectoral developments and contribute to curriculum improvement efforts. Moreover, it was stated that external stakeholder visits involving students and guest talks by stakeholders visiting our university have provided students with valuable opportunities to explore internship and career options. Additionally, activities aimed at strengthening relations with alumni were also mentioned. It was noted that external stakeholders are actively involved in the curriculum development process, and their suggestions have been taken into account during these efforts.
As part of the Erasmus program, information was exchanged regarding faculty members giving lectures at partner institutions abroad, as well as international academic staff teaching at our faculty. These exchanges were highlighted as important for fostering academic collaboration and enhancing international experience, with a consensus reached on continuing and expanding such mobility in future terms.
At the conclusion of the meeting, mutual expectations regarding continued coordination between the faculty administration, the quality board, and the department were expressed, and the session was brought to a close.
