Innovative Projects and Educational Initiatives from IGU TTO
Istanbul Gelisim University Technology Transfer Office (IGU TTO) aims to improve living standards and accelerate economic development through R&D activities at national and international levels. Collaborating with both the public and private sectors, IGU TTO has initiated numerous projects that bridge the gap between industry and academia, facilitating the commercialization of technology. Yahya Kemal Kiran, the Director of the Application and Research Center, highlighted the office's roles in developing industrial cooperation, project management, and providing entrepreneurship services. He stated that they aim to increase funding amounts by informing academics about national and international support programs.
IGU TTO operates in modern, technology-equipped spaces that promote the development of innovative ideas. The office employs 4 full-time staff, 9 part-time staff, and 13 interns, focusing on transforming academic research into industry applications. Their educational programs offer in-depth knowledge in technology transfer and innovation management, enhancing participants' competencies. Among the advanced technology projects undertaken by IGU TTO are electric-powered unmanned aerial vehicles, artificial intelligence applications, and smart mirrors, all contributing to the development of domestic and national technologies.
