The Higher Education Council (YÖK) announced that programs bearing the Turkey Qualifications Framework (TQF) logo will be included for the first time in this year's Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide. Istanbul Gelişim University (İGÜ) ranked first with 45 graduation certificates featuring the TQF logo.
As part of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) alignment efforts, YÖK granted the right to use the TQF logo on graduation certificates from December 23, 2021, onwards for programs meeting certain criteria. İstanbul Gelişim University, advancing with the vision of being a 'World University', is listed as the university with the highest number of TQF logoed graduation certificates that provide international employment opportunities.
This year, programs with the TQF logo will appear for the first time in the Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide. Nationwide, 109 universities will feature 894 undergraduate and 4 associate degree programs with the TQF logo in the 2024 Guide. Universities need to meet specific criteria, including accreditation by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) or recognized accreditation bodies, compatibility with qualification forms, and inclusion in the Vocational Qualifications Authority's (MYK) Turkey Qualifications Database, to be included in the Guide.
The TQF logo provides an advantage to students internationally when included on graduation certificates. Diplomas from these programs are recognized more quickly abroad, enhancing employment opportunities. Additionally, the TQF logo facilitates recognition of higher education internship qualifications and study periods abroad, contributing to student mobility.
