 The world's busiest commercial ports

Top 10 ports, which are the main actors of world trade.

The globalization of trade has actually been realized thanks to the developments in transportation routes. The reason for this was that although goods could be transferred to overseas countries by sea, volumetric trade was not possible due to the lack of large ports and ships. Therefore, in these early periods, although there was a trip to overseas countries, there was a very weak amount of transportation compared to today. However, today's rapidly developing industry has allowed the production of gigantic container or bulk carriers and the birth of ports that can handle appropriately.

Ports, which are the main actors of world trade and whose existence allows the economy of the country to run, draw attention with their capacities. As of 2019, the world's top 10 busiest ports are listed as follows:

1. Port of Shanghai: 43.3 million TEU
