Logistics Management

WHAT ARE LOGISTICS CENTERS AND THEIR ADVANTAGES ?

Logistics centers are structures where national and international transportation, storage, distribution, customs clearance and other logistics activities are carried out together, thus enabling the members of the industry to work together effectively.

Logistics centers should combine multiple modes of transport, thus providing the possibility of transfers at the same point with short waiting times. Thus, logistics centers increase the use of intermodal, multimodal and combined transportation modes, thus providing efficiency.

Logistics centers create cost-effectiveness in terms of keeping many different businesses under the same roof. For example, speed is gained by handling all the customs clearance transactions at a single point and putting them out for distribution. In this respect, logistics centers are places where activities such as storage, maintenance-repair, unloading, loading, handling and packaging are carried out at one point with their huge facilities. Therefore, in terms of establishing logistics centers with a good strategy, the contribution of countries to the logistics competitive advantage will be great.
