"Career Week 2018" event organized on 24-27 April 2018 by Career Orientation, Application and Research Center (KARYÖN), managed by B. Aykut Arıkan which is head of MIS Department and our research assistants Merve Boyaci and Merve Vural.
In the event, which took place at the new campus of Gelisim University, Zorlu Tower, the students came together with the managers of important institutions on national and international scale. MIS department faculty members Asst. Prof. Dr. Melda Keçeci and Asst. Prof. Dr. Yakup Çelikbilek joined this event with their students. In the event, students had the opportunity to reach the information they need to determine their career goals.
On Tuesday, April 24, the Mayor of Avcılar, Dr. Handan Toprak Benli, opened the event. Mr. Tayfun Timuray (one of the Albaraka Türk executives), Mr. Sinan Gürsan (one of the executives of EvdekiBakicim.com), Arif Gökhan Tipi (General Manager of Zeta Human Resources), Sabahattin Kaplan (Director of TGS Ground Services), Emrah Yolaç (Founder of and Emrah Yolaç Training & Consultancy Company) gave tips on career opportunities in public and life with banking, entrepreneurship and information technologies.
The event began on Wednesday, April 25, with the conversation of Altınordu Sports Club President Mr. Seyit Mehmet Özkan. It continued to Bülent Kesgin's (manager of Murat Educational Institutions), Mrs. Nur Coşkun's (founder of Net-Communication Consultancy firm), Mrs. Gülin Girişmen's (Head of Fashion Design Department of Istanbul Fashion Academy) presentations in sports, education and fashion areas.
The event kicked off on Friday, April 26 with the speeches of Mr. Rouzben Gergeri and Mr. Engin Güner, who are General Manager of Tama Kitchen and Ziba Catering. Mrs. Yasemin Sungur (Life Student), Mrs. İlkay Özden (British Time Education Manager), Mr. Fatih Güneş (Sun Architecture Founder), Mrs. Tuğba Şişik (General Manager of Zyxel Communication Technologies), MacFit Human Resources, share their experiences with students to sports, communication, life coaching, foreign language education and architecture areas.
In the event, officials from different institutions and organizations did stand work. Students who are preparing to graduate or continue their education at the stands have the opportunity to apply for work and internship. At this point, many students had the opportunity to share their applications and CVs with companies and managers before taking a step into business life.
