Hosted by Istanbul Gelisim University’s Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences, the event is themed "Media and Social Transformation: From Digital Content Production to Consumption."
In the evolving new media ecosystem, content production and consumption processes have transformed significantly, enabling every user to become a "prosumer." These processes, especially in digital content, have a rapidly changing and potentially global impact on various societal forms such as culture, politics, economy, and art. Today, this influence is being discussed within the context of artificial intelligence’s involvement in information production, increased data collection and processing capacities, and their effects on data management, surveillance capitalism, and digital culture and art.
The conference will address the multidimensional impacts of digital content production and consumption processes on media and society, including discussions ranging from everyday life practices to informational capitalism.
Full papers submitted after the conference will be published as book chapters by an international publisher.
We look forward to meeting all researchers in October 2024.
