In a panel discussion organized by the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Gelişim University and IGUSAM, Turkey’s commitment to global climate diplomacy and the strategic importance of its national projects for a sustainable future will be discussed. Turkey, which will host the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, will be at the center of the event, with a focus on the policies it will pursue in combating the climate crisis and its impact on the international stage.
Participants will benefit from the expertise of two distinguished guests—Aynur Acar, Chair of the Board of Directors of the TÜÇEM Association for Environmental Education and Waste Management, and Rahşan Bukni Ulus, a TÜÇEM member and Rahşan Bukni Ulus, Chair of the Board of Directors at Ulus Environmental Consulting), and gain insights into topics such as combating global warming, waste management, and access to clean water. They will also have the opportunity to thoroughly understand the global impact of local solutions and Turkey’s diplomatic and environmental influence in this process.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Sibel Zengin, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) at Istanbul Gelişim University.
