On Monday, December 1, İGÜ students visited Boğaziçi University to attend the event “Cultural Encounters: Literary Translations and Translators.” The visit was organized to allow students to experience a different academic environment and observe the diversity of university culture in Turkey firsthand.
The event was attended jointly by Dr. Elife Ateş from İGÜ’s Department of Literature and Research Assistant Zehra Nur Kurtoğlu from the Department of Psychology, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and interaction among departments.
Guided by Boğaziçi University’s unique academic environment, rich history, and the inspiring scenery of the Bosphorus, students had the opportunity to reevaluate their academic goals during the event focusing on literary translations and translators. Such visits enrich students’ interdisciplinary learning experiences, broaden their perspectives, and allow them to gain a closer understanding of university culture in Turkey.
