What Is Psycho-oncology?
Psycho-oncology is a sub-branch of psychology that examines the psychological effects of cancer on the patient, the patient's family, the patient's relatives and the treatment specialists, and aims to provide treatment for the problems in this context.
Cancer is one of the most serious diseases that modern medicine is trying to find a solution to. However, the negative effects of cancer are not limited to a person's body. This serious and chronic disease can have extremely negative psychological and social effects in the life of the individual. Psycho-oncology means psychology of cancer. Psycho-oncology is a sub-branch of psychology that examines the psychological effects of cancer diseases on the patient, the patient's family, the patient's relatives and the treatment specialists, and aims to provide treatment for the problems in this context. At the same time, it examines the psychological and behavioral factors in the emergence of cancer and determines possible risk factors.
