 Work-Life Balance

In its most general form, work-life balance can be defined as the ability of individuals to effectively manage their work and individual lives. 1.

Work-life balance is one of the main keys to organizational success. Work-life balance helps people
create a positive work environment. In addition, it helps the employee stay at work longer and has a
positive return on training investments. Work-life balance, which means establishing the balance
between career satisfaction and life responsibilities of the individual, facilitates the adaptation of
employees to work by increasing the diversity of employees in the workplace. In addition to these,
work-life balance is at a point that develops leadership skills and helps to produce new strategies for
the demands of employees 2, 3.
The use of information and communication technologies in business life, that is, supporting flexible
working life facilitates the balance that a person will establish between her/his work life and her/his
private life. In the globalizing world, the only goal is not to increase production and efficiency
anymore; On the contrary, it is to meet the expectations of the employees as well as the workplaces
and to ensure that they reach satisfaction 4.
