 Communication Innovation Club Hosted Koton’s Sustainability Committee Member Sedat Uyanık


The Student Club of the Public Relations and Publicity Department, Communication Innovation Club hosted Sedat Uyanık, the Sustainability Committee Member of the Koton brand, at the talk event on Sustainable Marketing.


In his presentation, Sedat Uyanık first gave general and comprehensive information about the history of the concept of sustainability and the international agreements made in this field. Afterwards, he talked about the dwindling resources of our world and in this context, the corporate social responsibility projects carried out with the awareness of sustainable fashion as the Koton brand. He stated that as Koton brand, they are trying to increase the use of recyclable and sustainable raw materials in production.


He underlined that as a brand, they take care not to fall into the greenwashing trap, which means presenting a product, brand or institution as if it is environmentalist, making misleading advertisements with unfounded environmental claims, and including these claims in marketing communications. In this sense, he stated that the Koton brand has taken sincere and concrete steps.


The conversation event, which was sometimes like a conversation, provided the opportunity to get to know the Koton brand more closely, and also offered the opportunity to listen to sustainability practices from a sector professional.
