The 5th International New Media Conference on 25-26 November

The International New Media Conference, which will be held by Istanbul Gelisim University, New Media and Communication Department for the fifth time on 25-26 November with the title of 'Digital Inequality', will be online and open to free participation.

The 5th International New Media Conference, which will be held by Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, New Media and Communication Department on 25-26 November 2021, is titled ‘Digital Inequality’. Digital Inequality, which has been on the agenda frequently during the Covid-19 pandemic we have been experiencing since the last months of 2019, refers to both the reproduction of existing social inequalities in new media environments and the new inequalities emerging with new communication technologies.

The 5th International New Media Conference adopted the open science principle with the belief that the progress of science should be supported by joint work and cooperation, as well as not restricting access to scientific information, and besides with the thought that the limits to access brought to scientific information create a new inequality. In this direction, participation in the conference is open to both the researchers who will make presentations and listeners.

Sessions will be held online via Google Meet, and the link for each session will be forwarded to the participants along with the conference program. Oral presentations will take an average of 15 minutes and at the end of each session, additional time will be given for the discussion and question-answer session. Afterwards, accepted abstracts will be announced after the peer-review process.
