The first day of the festival began with opening remarks at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Conference Hall, followed by a keynote speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Yasemin Giritli İnceoğlu, who shared critical insights into the societal impacts of artificial intelligence. In a subsequent panel discussion moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yıldız Derya Birincioğlu, renowned news anchors Cem Öğretir (ATV) and Seda Öğretir (NTV) addressed the evolving role of journalism in the age of AI under the title “AI in Communication: A New Era or a Passing Trend?”
In the afternoon, the program continued with a thought-provoking panel titled “AI and Communication: Who Shapes the Future?” featuring academics from several universities. The day concluded with a hands-on workshop led by experts from TRT’s New Media Department, focusing on the practical applications of AI in television journalism.
The second day opened with an exhibition curated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinem Eyice Başev titled “AI in Advertising: Design and Layout Showcase,” attended by advertising and public relations students. Meanwhile, communication expert Mehmet Ali Barışkan led an interactive session titled “Learn the Future of Communication Today,” exploring how AI is transforming communication education.
Later in the day, professionals from major media outlets such as NTV and TV100 took part in panels and workshops addressing a variety of topics, including the digital transformation of TV broadcasting, content creation using AI, personal development, and acting in the age of smart technologies.
Drawing significant interest from participants, İLETFEST 2025 successfully provided a comprehensive platform for discussing AI’s impact on the media and communication landscape. The event reinforced the importance of collaboration between academia and the industry in navigating the digital future.
