The event, which was organized to encourage social integration with disabled individuals and to raise awareness of Social Cooperatives, was held in cooperation with CIRIEC Turkey and Tomurcuk Cooperative. The event was organized by CRIEC Turkey National Committee members, Radio, Television and Cinema Department Vice President Dr. Aysun Kaya Deniz and Res. Asst. Zehra Makar.
A Full Day of Activities
The one-day event began with special classes designed for individuals with disabilities and concluded with a social activity hour. Between 11:00 and 12:00, a creative and calming art therapy workshop was conducted by Dr. Volkan Demir, offering a meaningful experience for participants. This was followed by a lunch gathering on the 4th floor from 12:00 to 13:00, providing an opportunity for attendees to socialize and connect.
From 13:00 to 14:00, a sports event was held on the football field by faculty members and assistants from the Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences for the Disabled, emphasizing the importance of physical activity. The day concluded from 14:00 to 15:00 with a musical performance and tea-time conversation on the Wintergarden Terrace, featuring the student band "Carshamba" formed by university students.
Purpose: Awareness and Solidarity
The primary aim of the event was to support the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in campus life and raise awareness about social cooperatives. The musical performance by the Carshamba group, delivered in a warm, sincere, and inclusive atmosphere, made the day unforgettable for all participants.
Istanbul Gelisim University continues to strengthen its inclusive university approach through such socially conscious events.
