Scheduled for 15–16 May 2025, starting at 09:00, the International Congress on Contemporary Debates from the Perspective of Sociology and Philosophy will gather academics, researchers, and graduate students seeking a sociology or philosophy conference in the heart of Istanbul. Over two days, interdisciplinary sessions will span topics from artificial intelligence, digitalization, and the technological society to the sociology of emotions, and from nation-identity debates to ecology, capitalism, and future studies. The panel titled “Resistance, Critique, and Alternative Perspectives” will range from the 2022 uprisings in Iran to broad decolonization debates, while “Identity, Women, and Migration” will offer a rich spectrum extending from Ziya Gökalp to explorations of feminine culinary experience. Meanwhile, the session “The Search for Meaning, Life, and Death” will delve into literary social critique, deathbed experiences, and the pursuit of meaning in an age defined by the global world picture. Open to presentations in both Turkish and English, this international academic event brings cutting-edge theoretical discussions in sociology and philosophy into practice and provides exceptional opportunities for networking and collaboration.
